Roadrunners Give Back returns early next month, where Metropolitan State University of Denver employees will put CADRE values into action alongside colleagues and community partners.
This year’s volunteer initiative runs Sept. 7-14 (excluding weekend dates), leading into Homecoming and connecting Roadrunners with 13 organizations across the Denver metro area. Employees can visit the Roadrunners Give Back webpage to explore volunteer opportunities and sign up.
Organized by the Office of University Strategy and External Affairs, Roadrunners Give Back builds on the inaugural service week last year that brought employees and alumni together to support Denver-area nonprofits.
New partners and familiar Roadrunner connections
This year’s lineup includes several new community partners and partner organizations with MSU Denver alumni and academic programs:
- Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield, longtime collaborator with the School of Hospitality’s Brewery Operations team
- Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver
- Fill a Plate, a partner of the School of Hospitality
- The Family Tree, led by MSU Denver alumnus and CEO Paolo Diaz
- Metro Caring, a volunteer partner with the College of Business
- The Gathering Place
- Food for Thought, a returning partner founded by MSU Denver alumni
The partnerships offer employees an opportunity to serve the community and show how Roadrunner relationships extend throughout the Denver area.
Roadrunners Give Back relaunched in 2025 in response to employee interest in more opportunities for workplace volunteerism and civic engagement. Participating organizations are selected for their relationships with the University, alignment with MSU Denver’s mission and values and impact in the community.
