Plaza Building, Health Center face extended closure due to water main break

Here's what students and patients need to know about class relocations, medical appointments and repair timeline.

The Plaza Building on the Auraria Campus, including all classrooms, offices and the Health Center at Auraria, will be closed until further notice due to a water main break.

Students, employees, Health Center patients and others who use the building should prepare for an extended closure – at least through Dec. 7 and likely longer – as crews work to identify and repair a water line that runs beneath the building’s concrete floor.

During this time:

  • Scheduled classes in the Plaza Building will be moved online or relocated to another building. Students and faculty members impacted by the closure should visit the Facilities Updates page for more information on where their classes have moved.
  • Faculty and staff members will be allowed to temporarily enter the building via badge access to retrieve belongings, but extended time in the building will not be permitted. Those retrieving belongings should enter through the door closest to the Health Center on the southwest corner of the building.
  • The Health Center will be providing telehealth appointments, which will be limited to conditions that are appropriate for remote remote evaluation. Other appointments will be rescheduled or referred to other providers. Please visit the Health Center website or call 303-615-9999 for more information related to appointments and services.

Visit the MSU Denver Facilities Updates page for the status updates on the Plaza Building closure. Contact the Facilities Department at 303-615-1699 or [email protected] for more information.
