Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Learning and Development team is initiating the new Lead leadership-development cohort program. The purpose of this program is to engage leaders’ hearts and minds to make MSU Denver a place where employees want to be and where they feel they belong, in alignment with the 2030 Strategic Plan and the University’s mission, vision and CADRE values.

The program will include partnering with content experts across the University community to provide leaders with tools and knowledge. Topics and conversations will include leadership styles; diversity, equity and inclusion; and developing a healthy and empowered team culture.

Program outcomes

By the end of the program, leaders will:

  • Identify their leadership strengths and opportunities for development.
  • Explain how they embody the MSU Denver mission and CADRE values, including a commitment to DEI, and learn how to align strategic goals.
  • Develop core competencies and skills to build high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Create trusting and meaningful relationships with fellow Roadrunners.
  • Develop and present process-improvement projects that champion CADRE values.
  • Celebrate the growth of themselves, other leaders and those they influence.

Eligibility

Leaders holding roles as managers, department chairs, associate deans, supervisors and directors with at least three direct reports who have been working at MSU Denver for at least six months are eligible to apply after a nomination from their supervisor.
