Volunteer as a marshal

Additionally, faculty and staff members are encouraged to volunteer as marshals.

Marshals play a critical role in the success of Commencement ceremonies by pointing graduates (and their mortarboards) in the right direction and assisting with all the little tasks that make the events possible.

Why volunteer?

  • It’s your chance to cheer on proud graduates as they cross the Commencement stage.
  • As a special thank-you, all marshals are also listed in the Commencement program.
  • It’s a chance to dust off your regalia.
  • It’s an opportunity to celebrate and reconnect with colleagues.
  • All volunteers receive complimentary meals.
  • It’s the best day of the semester.

To volunteer as a marshal, please complete the Call to Marshals Form by March 21.

Information on regalia

All marshals are required to reserve regalia or wear the regalia of their alma mater.

Click here to order regalia and enter “Metropolitan” in the search bar.

  • Metropolitan State University of Denver will appear.
  • Click on the link and follow the instructions to complete your order.

Regalia are free for all faculty and staff members who order through the link above and pick up their regalia on campus or on Commencement Day in the assembly area.

Regalia pickup at St. Cajetan’s Event Center

April 26–27, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.

Marshals can also choose the home shipping option, which requires two-way shipping ($15.95). Marshals who select the home shipping option can drop off their regalia after the ceremony at the Herff Jones table or mail it back to Herff Jones with the return label provided in the shipment.
