Metropolitan State University of Denver releases major operating system updates once a year during the summer. Regular updates ensure computer systems remain secure, functional and compatible with continuously evolving applications and web services.

What is happening?

  • All MSU Denver macOS computers are being upgraded to Tahoe (version 26).
  • Any MSU Denver Windows computers still on Windows 10 need to be upgraded to Windows 11.

When will this occur?

  • The Tahoe upgrade is available now. Faculty and staff with an MSU Denver macOS computer can install the latest version of the operating system through Self Service
  • All shared-use computers, such as front desk and computer lab devices, will be upgraded automatically.
  • Any computers that haven’t been upgraded by Aug. 1 will be upgraded automatically.

What do readers need to do?

  • IT Services encourages all employees with an assigned computer to schedule time to install its OS updates.
  • macOS users especially should make time to upgrade so they are not caught by surprise in August.
  • Windows users still on Windows 10 are encouraged to schedule time to bring their MSU Denver computer to ITS for assistance upgrading to Windows 11. Please be aware your computer may need to be checked in to perform the upgrade.
