Supporting Students

A new way to get support from the Access Center

Launching this fall, the Accommodations Hub provides a secure, centralized system for managing academic accommodations from start to finish.

The Access Center at Metropolitan State University of Denver is committed to ensuring equal access for all students, whether they are managing a long-term disability or navigating a temporary condition such as a broken wrist. The center provides a wide range of academic accommodations, from extended time on exams and note-taking assistance to assistive technologies, designed to remove barriers to learning.

And now, getting support just got easier.

Starting this fall, the Access Center is launching a new, streamlined platform: the Accommodations Hub. This centralized system allows students and faculty to manage accommodations in one place, making the process more efficient, secure and user-friendly.

What’s new for students?

The Accommodations Hub lets students:

  • Register with the Access Center.
  • Request accommodation letters.
  • Schedule exams and appointments.
  • Ask for accessible textbooks or documents.

The entire process, from applying for accommodations to scheduling exams, can now be done through one secure, accessible platform.

What’s changing for faculty?

The rollout of the Accommodations Hub brings several important updates to how faculty members interact with student accommodations:

1. New method for receiving accommodation letters

  • No more email attachments. Faculty members will receive notifications prompting them to log in to the hub.
  • Access is tied to MSU Denver’s SSO system, accessible via employee login credentials.
  • Faculty members must digitally acknowledge receipt and review of each letter.
  • Letters remain accessible within the hub throughout the semester.

2. Updated letter format

  • Letters now have a new look — read carefully to ensure that all accommodations are understood.
  • Some accommodations may include additional documentation or messages — review all details thoroughly.
  • For specific questions, contact the Accessibility Coordinator listed in the letter.

Changes to accommodated exams

Faculty members will now manage exams directly through the hub:

  • Upload exams per student or per class.
  • Completed exams will be securely uploaded back to the hub — no more email delivery. In-person pickup remains available.
  • Expect a digest-style reminder email instead of separate notices for each student.

Faculty-support resources

To help with this transition, the Access Center has published step-by-step guides available on the Accommodations Hub: Faculty Guides webpage. These instructions cover the key functions of the new system and will be regularly updated.
