Whether you’re looking for important announcements, policy updates or inspiring examples of Roadrunner excellence, the Early Bird is your go-to online new source for what’s happening across campus.

Produced by University Communications and Marketing, the Early Bird delivers stories that highlight the incredible work of our dynamic faculty and staff while also providing timely, employee-focused updates on University operations, leadership, governance, Human Resources, benefits and more.

Following a successful pilot program that ran from last October through March, the Early Bird newsletter will officially continue with its twice-weekly publishing schedule, arriving in inboxes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

This shift from daily delivery to a more concise, biweekly format was designed to improve readability and reduce inbox fatigue while still ensuring that employees get the information they need.

Anecdotal feedback and a review of key metrics, including open and click-through rates, show that this new schedule supports a positive perception of the newsletter and maintains an effective flow of information.

Meanwhile, you don’t have to wait for the newsletter to read the latest University news. Fresh stories are published on the Early Bird site nearly daily.

We want to hear from you

As we continue to improve, we invite you to take the Early Bird Reader Engagement Survey. This anonymous, confidential survey is your chance to help ensure that the newsletter meets your expectations and information needs.

Your input will guide enhancements to:

  • Content and coverage
  • Design and layout
  • Delivery preferences and frequency

It’s also a great introduction for newer employees who may not yet be familiar with the Early Bird and want to weigh in on how they would like to receive University communications.
