Metropolitan State University of Denver is combining its strategy and business- intelligence functions under the leadership of Kaycee Gerhart, who has been named vice president of Strategy and External Affairs, President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., announced in a message to employees on Wednesday.
Gerhart, who has guided the University’s Government and External Affairs teams since 2020, will now integrate those responsibilities with strategic planning and data analysis to better align internal and external priorities.
Davidson said the integration will enhance efficiency, better support decision-making and sustain MSU Denver’s momentum as Colorado’s most accessible and innovative university.
Gerhart has more than a decade of experience in education policy and has played a critical role in securing more equitable state funding for students, while building lasting relationships with policymakers and community partners.
The change follows the departure of Chief Strategy Officer James Mejia, who is leaving MSU Denver to pursue opportunities in politics.
