Metropolitan State University of Denver President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., will be inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame Class of 2027, recognizing her decades of leadership in military service, public policy and higher education.
The Hall of Fame honored Davidson and nine other women for making lasting contributions to Colorado through leadership, innovation and service. Introduced Tuesday under the theme “Dream Big,” the Class of 2027 reflects women whose vision and determination have created opportunities for future generations.
Before joining MSU Denver in 2017, Davidson broke barriers as the first woman to fly the tactical C-130 aircraft in the U.S. Air Force and later served as the 32nd undersecretary of the U.S. Navy. During her presidency, she has championed affordable, high-quality education while expanding opportunities for first-generation, immigrant and other historically underserved students.
The Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame also recognized Davidson as a nationally respected defense expert and published author whose career has influenced national security policy while helping thousands of Colorado students pursue higher education.
Founded in 1985, the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame honors women whose achievements have shaped the state’s history and continue to inspire future generations. Davidson and the other members of the Class of 2027 will be formally inducted during a gala March 26, 2027.
