Recognizing the best of the best, Metropolitan State University of Denver is calling on faculty, staff and students to nominate outstanding colleagues and teams for the seventh annual Roadrunners Who Soar Awards, set for April. The awards highlight those who go above and beyond to embody the University’s CADRE values and drive student and institutional success.
From inclusive leadership and innovative teaching to exceptional advising and collaborative teamwork, the Roadrunners Who Soar Awards shine a spotlight on individuals and groups making a lasting impact across the University.

The Soar Award
Celebrates employees who model the CADRE values and are positively impacting student and employee success.
- Eligibility: Open to all faculty, staff, administrators, hourly employees and student employees.
- Nomination deadline: Nov. 14.
The Team Roadrunner Award
Recognizes teams that demonstrate effective and equitable working dynamics, foster a positive and professional team environment, and support MSU Denver’s mission and student success.
- Eligibility: Open to all teams of three or more people.
- Nomination deadline: Nov. 14.

The Golich Awards
Honor faculty, staff and student employees who are shining examples of inclusive leadership at work and demonstrate curricular innovation, lead undergraduate research, and positively impact academic and student success.
Nomination deadline: Varies by Golich Award.

The President’s Distinguished Service Award
Recognizes employees who have provided exceptional service and leadership in support of the University’s mission, vision and CADRE values.
Eligibility: Any employee who has demonstrated longevity on a permanent, full-time basis over a period of 10 years.
- Nomination deadline: Nominations will open mid-November and run until Dec. 19.

Employees are encouraged to nominate a peer, colleague or team for their contributions, tremendous leadership and for upholding the University’s CADRE values.
To submit a nomination, visit the Roadrunners Who Soar website and review the many award types. Nominations should thoughtfully describe how the nominee meets the award criteria, providing specific examples of their contributions and impact.
