Alumnus and award-winning social worker Zander Keig, ’99, kicks off the latest season of “Bird Talk.” From his early life navigating identity and service in the Coast Guard to his trailblazing work in caregiving and LGBTQ advocacy, Keig shares a powerful story of resilience, reinvention and radical empathy at a critical time.
Launched in 2023, the alumni-focused podcast is hosted by Jamie Hurst, a 2021 graduate and assistant vice president for Strategic Engagement. Hurst’s in-depth interviews offer a fascinating glimpse into the lives and careers of a diverse range of the University’s alumni, including how their time at Metropolitan State University of Denver shaped their success.
