Administration Building Wi-Fi upgrade project postponed

The ITS team will work with AHEC to determine an updated timeline. More information will be available soon.

The Administration Building portion of the Network Modernization Project, scheduled to begin May 18, has been postponed. As a result, existing network services in the Administration Building will remain in place and active during the original project timeline of May 18-23. Employees who work in the Administration Building will not need to adjust their work schedules or locations during that period.

“(Information Technology Services) will work with (the Auraria Higher Education Center) and building stakeholders to identify an updated schedule, which will likely follow the West Classroom Building reopening later this summer,” said Darius Jack, director of Network and Infrastructure Services. “The project team recognizes that this change may be an inconvenience for some departments and offices, and we appreciate your partnership and collaboration on this and other modernization efforts.”

The Network Modernization Initiative is a three-year project to improve and modernize Metropolitan State University of Denver’s network infrastructure by replacing aging wired and wireless network equipment. In addition to providing a more stable and reliable foundation for our enterprise networks, this project will provide greater monitoring capabilities and security measures for increased cybersecurity, all in service of the University’s No. 1 strategic goal to attract, prepare and graduate students equipped to succeed in the 21st century.

Please watch the Early Bird and the Network Modernization Initiative website for more details and further communications soon.
