Faculty and staff members can help students remain in alignment with their degree requirements and mitigate barriers to completion by supporting the Rowdy Pit Stop.
The initiative reminds students to review their Degree Progress Report/Academic Plan and check in with their advisor on Oct. 15 and March 15 each year.
Why Rowdy’s Pit Stop is valuable for students:
- Empowers students with knowledge about their degree status and progression to ensure that they are still on the quickest path to graduation.
- Familiarizes students with the DPR, which identifies academic requirements, lists transfer and repeated course credits, and shows how current coursework would apply to different programs.
- Ensure students aren’t overpaying or spending time earning unnecessary credits for their degree requirements.
How faculty and staff can help:
- Direct students to the Rowdy Pit Stop website.
- Announce the initiative in classes and spread the word among student employees,
- Familiarize yourself with the three simple steps to check a DPR should students have questions.
- Add the Rowdy Pit Stop dates, Oct. 15 and March 15, to your office or department’s annual calendar.
