The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act is a federal law that pertains to the release of and access to student educational records. This law seeks to protect the rights of students and to ensure the privacy and accuracy of education records.
FERPA grants students the following rights:
- To access their Metropolitan State University of Denver educational record.
- To decide who can and cannot access specific parts of their educational record.
- To seek to amend an educational record if they believe it is incorrect.
Institutions must ensure that all faculty and staff members are in compliance with this federal regulation. As a staff or faculty member at MSU Denver, it is your responsibility to oversee and uphold the rights that FERPA grants to our students.

- Friday, 2-3 p.m.
- Feb. 28, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- March 28, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
- April 27, 10-11 a.m.
In person:
- Feb. 10, 10-11 a.m.
- March 10, 2-3 p.m.
- April 7, 10-11 a.m.
