Metropolitan State University of Denver will continue to fund Regional Transport District EcoPasses as a benefit for all members of professional staff, faculty, affiliate faculty and classified staff through Dec. 31. An RTD EcoPass can be used to travel by bus, light rail and commuter-rail service.
To receive an RTD pass, faculty and staff members can visit the Parking and Transportation Services Office on a first-come, first-served basis Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. If a faculty or staff member has lost their EcoPass, there will be a $10 replacement card fee.
Student employees who would like to purchase an RTD EcoPass must go through the student program, which costs $135 and will be effective through the upcoming fall and spring semesters.
It is still unknown whether the University will be able to fund an RTD EcoPass for the 2023 calendar year. RTD is conducting a fare study to determine what the program will look like in the future, but MSU Denver will not know more until RTD offers a new program around October. Chief Financial Officer George Middlemist says the University’s goal is to continue the beneficial program.
