National Student Employment Appreciation Week happens annually in the second week of April. The NSEA created this opportunity to showcase the important role student employees serve on campus. Metropolitan State University of Denver departments and offices depend on the variety of talent, creative ideas and hard work that over 2,700 student employees offer and how critical they are to MSU Denver’s success. The Classroom to Career Hub, with help from several offices across campus, has planned a week of activities to showcase the University’s appreciation of student employees. Please see below for this week’s festivities.

What some student employees have to say about their jobs
Karla Garcia: “Being a student employee has provided me with so many opportunities that I feel I wouldn’t have taken advantage of otherwise. I’ve learned so much more about the campus and have been so much more involved than I would’ve been. I also got to meet so many new people through being a student employee that have brought a lot of value to my life.”
Shiwani Regmi: “Being a student employee at MSU Denver has helped me to be successful at the University because I am given many opportunities to connect with students, student employees and staff members around campus to expand my networking skills. Being a student employee has also made me more aware of the importance of attending events when given the opportunity. When attending events, I get to apply my skills and knowledge to obtain success in my goals here while attending the University.”
Katie Olague: “Student employment is, in my view, the best choice for college students. I appreciate the flexibility it provides and how it encourages student participation in school activities and events. It also enables us to fully comprehend all of the tools at our disposal. Overall, student employment helps us be more successful while allowing us to take care of our responsibilities.”
