Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Staff Senate convened Jan. 10 for its monthly meeting led by President Rebecca Reid, innovation and transformation analyst for Human Resources.
In the meeting, the body voted 16 in favor with one abstention to restructure the Staff Senate to match the recent reorganization of colleges. The former structure consisted of four officers, 10 division senators and 12 at-large senators. The new structure will have 13 division senators and nine at-large senators. The full plan can be found here.
The Staff Senate is moving forward with Phase II of its restructuring plan and looking for senators to join the task force. Anyone interested can contact Secretary Bridget Wetzel, online student services manager.
Book Club
The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee also secured funding to host a book club for “Me and White Supremacy,” which is open to all staff members; books are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The first two meetings will take place toward the end of February and March.
