Metropolitan State University of Denver staff member and 2016 alumnus Zachary Berger has been a fan of Socktober from the beginning.
“Since 2019, Socktober has allowed me to support funds that I know will impact MSU Denver students directly — such as Rowdy’s Corner or the DREAMer Emergency Fund — while indulging my love of uniquely designed socks and showing off my passion for the University,” said Berger.
Join Berger in jumping feet-first into the seventh annual Socktober by making a $25 gift ($15 is tax-deductible) to any of our student support service funds through October to receive one pair of MSU Denver socks, AND one pair of socks will be donated to Rowdy’s Corner and distributed to a student in need.
This year, choose from three custom sock designs: a performance sock, a mid-length athletic sock and a limited-edition business sock exclusively offered by the Alumni Association, featuring the iconic “Retro M-bird” logo (circa 2007), which will not be featured in any future promotions. A limited number of 2024 sock packages (includes two sock designs) are also available with a gift of $40 ($20 is tax-deductible).
Last year was our most successful Socktober yet, with nearly 400 donors contributing $26,425, bringing our six-year total to almost $110,000 — a third of that total is thanks to MSU Denver faculty and staff members — and more than 4,000 pairs of socks donated!
“I was so excited to be able to get a pair of Socktober socks when I was visiting Rowdy’s Corner,” said Samuel Simon, a Computer Science major. “Now, every time I wear them, not only do I get to show off my Roadrunner pride, but I’m reminded of how much my community cares about me.”
Join us in kicking off Socktober and celebrating 60 Years of Excellence at MSU Denver by making your gift today. Your gift will keep students’ feet cozy all year long and impact their well-being, while also helping the University reach its goal of raising $100 million during the final year of the Roadrunners Rise campaign.
