Honoring recent feedback received from the Metropolitan State University of Denver community, Human Resources is streamlining the current onboarding model for full-time administrative and full-time classified staff.
As of April 1, all New Employee Orientation dates will be adjusted to better support University onboarding processes overall. HR will continue to host two New Employee Orientation events per month, but orientations will no longer always fall on the first and third Mondays.
New Employee Orientation improvements:
- All New Employee Orientation dates through December will be available via the New Employee Orientation Portal, which will also host regularly updated information to be shared and accessed by employees and supervisors.
- The New Employee Orientation agenda will be condensed to approximately five hours.
- The agenda will focus on specific areas of need for new employees, including parking/transportation, hardware assignments, campus IDs and benefits.
- The streamlined New Employee Orientation creates time and space for new employees to connect and build community with their individual teams on their first day with the University.
The Learning and Development site will also house important information for new full-time administrative staff members, new full-time classified staff members and supervisors to return to throughout the onboarding process. Within this space, the Learning and Development Department will continue to offer coaching opportunities, materials and ongoing onboarding strategies for supervisors.
HR thanks the University community for its feedback and flexibility throughout this transition. As HR evolves, the intent is to champion practices that better serve the MSU Denver community. Please contact [email protected] with additional questions.
