At the annual Roadrunners Who Soar Awards, Metropolitan State University of Denver honors faculty and staff members for their outstanding work and lasting impact on student success. The recognition ceremony celebrates individual and team achievements across several award categories.
Two honors are awarded by President Janine Davidson, Ph.D.: the Distinguished Service Award and the President’s Leadership Award, which recognize outstanding leadership, service and longevity at MSU Denver.
President’s Distinguished Service Award
Purpose: Recognizes employees who have provided exceptional service and leadership in support of MSU Denver’s mission, vision and CADRE values.
Eligibility: Permanent, full-time employees with 10 or more years of service.
Nomination period: Nov. 3–Dec. 19
Selection: Nominations accepted; the recipient is selected by President Janine Davidson.
Award: $2,000 stipend, presented at the Roadrunners Who Soar awards ceremony.
President’s Leadership Award
Purpose: Honors outstanding and extraordinary leadership.
Eligibility: Open to all employees; tenure is not required.
Selection: Not nomination-based; recipients are chosen at President Davidson’s discretion.

Nominate a coworker for the President’s Distinguished Service Award
Purpose: To recognize employees who have provided exceptional service and leadership in support of the University’s mission, vision and CADRE values.
Eligibility: Any employee who has demonstrated longevity on a permanent, full-time basis over a period of 10 years.
Award: Includes a $2,000 stipend, presented at the spring Roadrunners Who Soar awards ceremony.
Nomination period: Nov. 3 – Dec. 19.
Successful nominations will describe how the nominee meets the award criteria and include specific examples of their contributions and impact.
