MSU Denver leaders urge unity in wake of tragedies

Support and safety resources for employees and students.

The Roadrunner community is heartbroken by two devastating events: the shooting at Evergreen High School and the tragic death of political activist Charlie Kirk on the campus of Utah Valley University. The University’s deepest sympathies go out to the victims, their families and the communities affected, President Janine Davidson, Ph.D. and Provost Matt Makley, Ph.D. said in a message to the campus community.

The violence in Utah serves as a painful reminder of the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding. Disagreement is a natural part of university life, but violence has no place in our classrooms, campuses or society, they said.

To assist students and employees in navigating times of tragedy and to stay prepared for emergencies, MSU Denver has compiled a list of campus and community resources. These offerings are intended to provide emotional, professional and practical support.
