Metropolitan State University of Denver welcomed some of its youngest Roadrunners to campus as part of an educational and fun Bring a Child to Work Day event April 24. Approximately 40 families participated in the event, which encouraged children to explore career possibilities and imagine their place in the world of work, starting with a close-up look at life on a college campus.
The day included launching rockets in the Aerospace and Engineering Sciences Building, creating imaginative sculptures in a junk-art challenge and more, and it was filled with fun, discovery and family connection. Many families shared how much they enjoyed the activities and appreciated the chance to engage with MSU Denver in such a unique and meaningful way.
Centralized family-friendly programming is expected to return, reinforcing MSU Denver’s commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive campus culture, according to Lauren Jones, Senior Program Manager in the Office of Human Resources. Feedback from this year’s event underscored a desire for greater departmental and team involvement as well as expanded activity options for middle-school and junior-high-school participants.
Updates and details about future events will be shared with all employees via the Early Bird. These efforts support MSU Denver’s Strategic Plan goal of becoming Colorado’s most desired workplace by 2030 and reflect the University’s commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience through meaningful connection, recognition, and community engagement.
