Metropolitan State University of Denver is embarking on a national search for the next provost/executive vice president for Academic Affairs to lead the academic enterprise of the University.
President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., has assembled a diverse search committee to support the process. Led by Rosemarie Allen, Ed.D., associate professor of Early Childhood Education, and Samuel Jay, Ph.D., director of Faculty Affairs, the committee comprises 11 faculty members, staff members, trustees and students.
“The provost is a central leader of this University — someone who will work as closely with me as with our faculty, chairs, directors and deans,” Davidson said. “I am immensely grateful to the students, staff and faculty on the search committee for their energy and commitment and encourage all campus constituents for continued engagement in this search.”
The committee welcomes community input such as top agenda items for the provost; necessary experiences, credentials, skills and personal qualities/characteristics; and pride points of MSU Denver.
The search process will include listening sessions and other points of integration. Executive-search firm Wittkeiffer will conduct listening sessions with an array of constituencies including faculty, deans, the council of chairs, the Faculty Senate executive committee, senior leadership, students and the President’s Cabinet. Faculty members can also provide feedback through this online survey.
Anticipated timeline
The search will officially kick off early this month with a charge to the committee and listening sessions for the University community. The leadership profile and position description will be available in mid- to late May with candidate recruitment occurring over the summer and concluding in October. More detailed information will be available on the 2023 Provost Search page.
