Michael Nguyen, a longtime member of Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Enrollment Management team, has been appointed interim executive director of Financial Aid and Scholarships.

An MSU Denver alumnus, Nguyen brings over two decades of experience to the role, where he will lead efforts to support students and streamline Financial Aid operations. His appointment follows the departure of Kerline Eglaus, who has accepted a position outside the University. Known for his expertise in system improvements and data-driven strategies, Nguyen is poised to guide the division through a seamless transition.

“I’m honored to support MSU Denver’s commitment to accessible and affordable education,” Nguyen said. “I look forward to leading our Financial Aid and Scholarships team as we shape the future of Financial Aid services and continue to empower our students.”

Nguyen joined the University in 2003 and has held several key positions, including Financial Aid advisor, communications counselor, project manager, associate director and director of Financial Aid systems, director of the Enrollment Management call center and director of Enrollment Management systems and operations. Over the years, he has been instrumental in improving operational efficiencies, implementing data-driven strategies and enhancing systems to better serve MSU Denver students.

In his new role, Nguyen will oversee the critical functions of the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships and the Enrollment Management call center, ensuring seamless support for students navigating their financial-aid journeys. His focus will be on maintaining operational excellence while exploring opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

“Throughout his time at MSU Denver, Michael has demonstrated unwavering dedication to improving systems, implementing data-driven strategies and advancing operational efficiency,” said Chief Enrollment Officer Long Huynh, DBA. “His experience and leadership will undoubtedly guide the Financial Aid and Scholarships team through this period of change.”
