Longtime Student Affairs leader Megan Scherzberg, Ph.D., has been named associate vice president for Enrollment Management..

Scherzberg, who has been part of the Metropolitan State University of Denver community for more than nine years, previously served as executive director of Orientation, Transfer and Reengagement.

After Chief Enrollment Officer Long Huynh’s departure in April, Scherzberg stepped in as an interim associate vice president. University leaders used the interim period to evaluate the best organizational structure to support the Enrollment Management team before selecting a permanent leader.

In her new role, Scherzberg will help guide the University’s enrollment strategy and advance key initiatives tied to the University’s 2030 Strategic Plan for enrollment and retention.

The appointment highlights the University’s internal leadership strength, said Will Simpkins, Ed.D., vice president for Student Affairs.

“Megan brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to student success,” Simpkins said. “She has been a key leader in our enrollment growth strategies, particularly in expanding transfer success initiatives and increasing first-year student retention.”

Before joining MSU Denver, Scherzberg held positions at Des Moines Area Community College and the University of Kansas. As associate vice president, she will collaborate with key stakeholders to drive targeted enrollment growth, strengthen financial aid strategy and operations, and support the implementation of the new student information system.
