Know Your Benefits: Anthem Rewards offers gift cards for completing health milestones

For Metropolitan State University of Denver employees covered under an Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield policy, healthy habits and smart choices are good for your wellbeing and your wallet.

Anthem Health Rewards offers up to $225 in gift cards for completing eligible health activities, and covered spouses under Anthem can earn the same rewards. Members can begin earning by filling out a short health assessment for a $25 credit and logging into their account on the Sydney app for another $5. These initial steps and more are achievable in minutes, while others come with even larger incentives for scheduling appointments, creating and following proactive wellness plans, and tracking daily activities. 

For those who earned rewards in 2025, deadline to redeem rewards earned last year is March 31, 2026.

How the program works  

As participants complete health activities, they earn dollars toward digital gift cards. Completed and eligible health activities are tracked and automatically updated in the My Health Dashboard within the participant’s anthem.com account. Rewards can be redeemed in the same dashboard. 

Several activities are available only to certain types of members or those who have specific preexisting conditions or fall within designated age groups. 

How to access Anthem Health Rewards through the member portal   

1. Register at anthem.com.   

2. Hover over the My Health Dashboard tab to reveal the drop-down menu.  

3. Select My Rewards to view activities or Redeem Rewards to select a gift card. 

How to access Anthem Health Rewards through the Sydney Health app:   

1. Launch the Sydney Health app.   

2. Click the Menu button in the bottom right corner.  

3. Select ACCESS CARE. Then select My Health Dashboard.   

4. Scroll down to the Incentives section. Select My Rewards to view or Redeem Rewards to select a gift card.

3. At the top, on the main menu, select Medical & Prescription.  

4. Using the submenu on the left, select Anthem Wellness Plan.
