Using open educational resources is one way faculty members can create engaging courses with low- or no-cost materials, increasing accessibility for students.
Faculty members who would like to explore open educational resources and ways to use them in their courses have a variety of opportunities to learn more.
Fall 2022 OER Faculty Learning Community
Co-facilitated by Felix Flores, Ph.D., assistant professor of Marketing, and Emily Raga, Ph.D., associate professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the OER FLC offers a fun and supportive environment for faculty members to exchange ideas.
- Every other Thursday from 2-3:30 p.m., Sept. 8-Dec. 1
- Meetings held virtually via Teams
- $500 stipend for attending at least five of the seven sessions.

Open Textbook Review workshop
Faculty members who have not yet attended an Open Textbook Review workshop are encouraged to attend and learn more about open educational resources. Themes addressed include access, affordability, inclusion and academic success.

- $200 stipend after attending the workshop and writing a review of an open textbook.

Fall 2022 OER $750 Adoption Grant
Faculty members who are using OER as the primary resource for a course for the first time this fall or who are preparing for primary OER use in a course next spring are encouraged to apply for a $750 OER-adoption minigrant.
One-on-one library consultations
Faculty members are welcome to set up a library consultation for help finding OER or other no-cost-to-students resources.
