Faculty members are encouraged to vote for faculty trustee

Due to a technical error, the poll to select a new advisory member for the Board of Trustees will reopen.

Thank you to all faculty members who voted in the recent faculty–Trustee election. Unfortunately, there was a problem with the poll, and the results are therefore invalid. The Faculty Senate must rerun the election to ensure a fair result. Faculty members’ patience is appreciated, and all are encouraged to vote in this new election.

The role of the faculty trustee

  • As the faculty representative to the Metropolitan State University of Denver Board of Trustees, the faculty trustee serves as a nonvoting advisory member of the board and a voting member of the Faculty Senate.
  • This representative is expected to attend and participate in all board meetings and retreats; ensure that the voice of the faculty is heard on issues before the board; and report to the faculty community and Faculty Senate as soon as practical following each board meeting.
  • The faculty trustee attends all Faculty Senate and Faculty Senate Executive Committee meetings and serves as a member of the Faculty Handbook Committee. The faculty trustee serves a one-year term.

The three nominees for faculty trustee have written a statement for a facultywide vote, and the short statement for each nominee is included in the voting form.
