Colorado Avalanche watch parties

The Auraria Campus will host a series of community watch parties for the NHL’s Stanley Cup Finals, featuring the Colorado Avalanche vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning in a best-of-seven series for the league championship. Home and away games will be shown on giant screens surrounded by food trucks with food and beverages for sale. Entry is free of charge, and all events are open to the public. Upcoming holiday closures
Juneteenth
June 20
Juneteenth is now MSU Denver’s 13th paid holiday. The University will close Monday to allow employees and students time to take part in community celebrations recognizing the end of slavery and specifically commemorating the events of June 19, 1865, when approximately 250,000 Black people who remained enslaved in Texas were freed by executive decree.
Independence Day
July 4
MSU Denver will also be closed July 4 in observation of Independence Day. This includes all offices and departments, classes will not be in session, and campus access will not be available.
Early Bird summer hiatus
July 4-8
The Early Bird will take a brief intermission from July 4-8, arriving back in your inbox July 11. If you have a story that you would like featured prior to the hiatus or upon the Early Bird’s return, please submit your request by Monday using the Service Request Form to allow sufficient time for planning.
