Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion is looking to highlight and recognize the equity, diversity and inclusion work being done across the University. These efforts will be included in the annual Equity Diversity and Inclusion Report, as well as in applications for the Seal of Excelencia and the Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award. Share what your area has done and continues to do to advance equity, diversity and inclusion at the University.
About the Accolades:
The Seal of Excelencia is awarded to trendsetting colleges dedicated to intentionally serving Hispanic and Latina/o/x students. As a Hispanic-Serving Institution, MSU Denver is passionate about uplifting diverse students, staff and faculty members. Excelencia in Education established the Seal of Excelencia as a three-year national certification for institutions that strive to go beyond enrollment to intentionally serve Hispanic and Latina/o/x students. To capture the University’s dedication, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is highlighting various programs and practices at MSU Denver specifically focused on intentionally serving our diverse student population.
The Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. Due to the amazing work being done across campus, MSU Denver has earned this award for the past eight years and notably was the only four-year institution in Colorado thusly honored last year.
Additionally, programs and efforts included could help the Office of Diversity and Inclusion identify possible grants or other funding opportunities centered on servingness for upcoming school years. Please complete the survey by May 10.
