We’ve highlighted several topics this month, but there are many cybersecurity tips to keep in mind all year long. Keep practicing safe habits to ensure your data doesn’t become a ghost story.
- Strong passwords: Some horror stories could be stopped before they even start just by keeping the door locked. Check out Smart Password & Passphrase Tips on the Information Technology Services Knowledgebase to make sure your lock and key are up to the task.
- Multi-Factor Authentication: MFA lets you put up more than one barrier between you and what’s lurking in the shadows. MFA is active on all University accounts, but you should consider enabling it on your personal accounts, as well.
- Protect PII: Be aware of the personally identifiable information you work with, and make sure you treat it with the care it deserves. Read Protecting Personally Identifiable Information on the ITS Knowledgebase for more information.
