A proposed Advances for Externally Funded Projects Policy, championed by the Office of Sponsored Programs and Research, is up for Roadrunner community review. The policy provides guidance on pre-award expenditures for projects funded by external organizations, such as the federal government.
Roadrunners are encouraged to share recommendations, questions and concerns by visiting www.msudenver.edu/policy and clicking on “Comment on a University Policy.”
Visit the University Policy Library to read current policies approved by the MSU Denver Board of Trustees, president and provost.
Policy updates
- Animal Policy
University leadership is considering a proposed Animals on University Property Policy that was previously developed and recommended by the University Policy Advisory Council. This MSU Denver policy would be in addition to the current campuswide Animal Policy, which is available on the Auraria Higher Education Center’s policy webpage. - Email Security Policy
President Janine Davidson, Ph.D., is reviewing revisions to the Email and Electronic Communications Security Policy recommended by the President’s Cabinet at its September meeting. The policy requires employees to use their official MSU Denver email address to communicate with students, with some exceptions to conduct University business. To address security and privacy concerns, the policy revision prohibits auto-forwarding of official MSU Denver email to personal email addresses. Once approved, the policy changes will be rolled out in a phased approach with communication to current employees and students. - University Closure Policy
A policy-council work group with representatives from the offices of student government, the Faculty Senate, the Staff Senate, Academic Affairs, Facilities, Human Resources, Online Learning, University Communications and more are drafting a University Closure Policy to address gaps regarding remote work and online classes in the current AHEC campus-closure policy. The policy also provides guidance to MSU Denver employees on what to do when the University closes and campus is open.
