Two major infrastructure projects this spring will bring significant improvements to Auraria facilities where Metropolitan State University of Denver departments are housed. These upgrades are part of the Auraria Campus’s ongoing efforts to improve campus facilities, enhance energy efficiency and create a better learning and working environment for the MSU Denver community.

“The project team is excited to implement these updates and improvements, with the goal of making faculty and staff members and students more comfortable,” said Martha Nelson, director of Planning, Design and Construction. “There will be some noise and temporary disruptions, but the team has worked hard to minimize any impact to learning.”

Auraria Campus will continue Projects B and C, focusing on upgrades to heating, ventilation and air conditioning; roof replacements; and window renovations across campus. While these updates will modernize campus buildings, some areas will see temporary relocations and other accommodations.

Project B: HVAC upgrades

The latest phase of HVAC replacement will take place in the Auraria Event Center and Cherry Creek Building, starting in January with the bulk of the work occurring during Spring Break and continuing through early fall.
