Call for proposals: Faculty Research Symposium

Annual event designed to spark curiosity, connect researchers and showcase the breadth of scholarship at MSU Denver.

Whether it’s the biology of embryonic zebrafish or the cultural impact of film, the annual Metropolitan State University of Denver Faculty Research Symposium has become a showcase of the wide-ranging scholarship happening across campus. Organizers, hoping for even more diverse and curiosity-inspiring topics this year, have called for speaker proposals from campus researchers.

“The symposium provides an opportunity to see the incredible diversity of research our faculty members are engaged in and to connect across disciplines in ways that rarely happen at traditional conferences,” said Bridget Arend, associate director of teaching and learning in the Center for Teaching, Learning and Design. “It highlights the breadth of scholarship at MSU Denver and the energy that comes when we share our ideas.”

The Fourth Annual Faculty Research Symposium will be held Oct. 24 at St. Cajetan’s. Faculty and staff members and graduate students are encouraged to apply by Sept. 26 to present their work through posters or seven-minute lightning talks.

Successful applications will include a strong research project that includes recent data or findings, and priority is given to new and innovative projects.
