Alumni Relations launches ‘Bird Talk’ podcast

In monthly interviews, alums share how MSU Denver programs shaped their success.

Metropolitan State University of Denver Alumni Relations recently launched a podcast called “Bird Talk,” which focuses on interviews with MSU Denver graduates.

MSU Denver alumni Bird Talk with Jamie Hurst '21Hosted by 2021 graduate Jamie Hurst, assistant vice president for Strategic Engagement, “Bird Talk” is a fascinating glimpse into the lives and careers of the University’s alumni, featuring in-depth interviews highlighting their unique journeys and insights about how their time at MSU Denver shaped their success.

Travis Luther, founder of Luther Media LLC and a 2008 graduate, joins Hurst for the inaugural episode to talk about all things MSU Denver, including life, careers and how tripling your failure can lead to doubling your success.

The most recent episode features ESPN “SportsCenter’s” Gary Striewski, a 2010 graduate, for a discussion about his love for MSU Denver and his dog, Homie; the importance of saying “yes” when opportunities present themselves; and all things ESPN.  

“Bird Talk” offers a diverse range of perspectives and experiences from people such as entrepreneurs, educators, artists and scientists, making it a must-listen for anyone interested in the impact of higher education. New episodes are released on the first of each month.
