As housing affordability remains a challenge across the Denver metro area, Metropolitan State University of Denver is exploring whether future workforce housing options on or near campus could better support employees.
Faculty and staff members are invited to share their perspectives as part of an initial assessment focused on understanding needs, priorities and potential demand. Workforce housing can be designed to help employees live near their workplace at a price point aligned with their earnings, particularly in high-cost markets such as Denver.
The effort aligns with broader planning across the Auraria campus, where the Auraria Higher Education Center is planning a workforce housing development next to Summit House, MSU Denver’s residence hall under construction on the north side of campus. Employee feedback will help inform whether access to such housing could support employee recruitment, retention and well-being.
At MSU Denver, this exploration is in the early stages and focused on gathering ideas rather than advancing a specific development plan.
