Spring Commencement is almost here, taking place May 16, and the excitement on campus is rising. As the Metropolitan State University of Denver community prepares to celebrate the Class of 2025, the University gives a standing ovation to the employees who have signed up to volunteer and invites everyone to join in the celebration.
Whether you’re helping out in person or cheering from the sidelines, see how you can support the event below:
On-site volunteers
The University Events team extends a huge thank-you to the MSU Denver employees serving as marshals and volunteers at Spring Commencement.
“Your time, energy and Roadrunner pride make these ceremonies memorable and meaningful for our grads and their families,” said Jessica Fernandez, senior director of University Events.

Supporting Commencement remotely
For those unable to attend Commencement at the Denver Coliseum, consider the following options to support students remotely (before, during and after the event):
- Tune in online: Watch the livestream on the Commencement homepage. The page will be updated with a link to view the ceremonies the evening before the event.

Learn about speakers and award recipients
The keynote speaker for the morning ceremony is astronaut and sculptor Ed Dwight. President’s Award recipient Angie Petersen will also speak during the morning ceremony.
The afternoon ceremony will honor Marathon Award recipient Navin Dimond, who will also deliver an address to graduates. Hailey Glass, the Provost’s Award recipient, will impart her final remarks to her fellow graduates during this ceremony.
