Individual and team honors celebrate employees who model CADRE values, positively impact student and employee success and serve as outstanding ambassadors for MSU Denver.

The sixth annual Roadrunners Who Soar Awards are the University’s pinnacle recognition event,  celebrating the incredible teams and individuals who embody the Metropolitan State University of Denver mission and values. 

Employees are encouraged to nominate their deserving colleagues for either an individual Soar Award or a Team Roadrunner Award by Dec. 13.

The Soar Award 

The Soar Award celebrates employees who: 

  • Live and model the CADRE values of Community, Access, Diversity, Respect and Excellence. 
  • Positively impact student and/or employee success. 
  • Make a significant impact on the success of their teams, offices and departments. 
  • Are excellent ambassadors for MSU Denver. 

Team Roadrunner Award 

The Team Roadrunner Award honors teams that: 

  • Exemplify effective and equitable working dynamics. 
  • Foster positive professional environments where all members feel appreciated and valued for their contributions. 
  • Model collaboration and mutual accountability. 
  • Create spaces where team members can innovate and support the University’s mission and student success. 

Tips for nominators  

To write a successful nomination, nominators should respond to each award criterion, outline how the nominee models CADRE values and use specific examples of the employee’s or team’s work, efforts, accomplishments, innovations and other reflections of their value, commitment and quality. 

Roadrunners Who Soar Awards ceremony held each spring  

The University’s pinnacle recognition event honors employees from across the University for their contributions throughout the academic year. The event includes the Soar Awards, Team Roadrunner Awards, the President’s Distinguished Service Award and the Golich Awards (which encompass multiple staff, faculty and student-employee honors) and includes honorees, nominators and University leaders. Roadrunner Shoutout Awardees are also invited to the evening celebration.
