As Metropolitan State University of Denver launches into a new curriculum cycle, the Curriculum, Academic Effectiveness and Policy Development Office would like to share a few updates:
- Curriculum Due Dates are posted on the SharePoint site, the curriculum website and the Procedural Calendar.
- The Guide to Curriculum for Originators, a new manual that provides information and resources to faculty members wanting to create curriculum proposals, is now available. A companion Canvas training will be available soon.
- New videos have been added to the Curriculum SharePoint site video library, and a list of curriculum contacts for the institution is available.
Required training for curriculum-committee members:
If you are a college or school curriculum-committee member, you re required to complete the Curriculum Reviewer training.
This training advises reviewers on expectations, best practices and resources that are imperative for the reviewer role. Register using this form and view the Reviewer training manual on the SharePoint site. This manual includes helpful information, standard practices and much more. The training is self-paced, takes two to four hours to complete and is good for three years. Members of other levels of curriculum committees are strongly encouraged to complete the training as well.
Curriculum Database updates:
Work on the Curriculum Database continues, and access will be available in beta format. This means faculty and staff will be able to access the database, but not all of the 3,500+ courses in the University catalogs will be available to view. By providing early access, feedback can be gathered on the process. More information will be announced through the curriculum email-distribution list, and check the Curriculum Database page on the Curriculum SharePoint site for updates.
New program-proposal process review:
An updated draft of the program–proposal process has been completed, and next steps are to share the draft and get feedback from faculty and staff members. Two information sessions are available, and the Director of Curriculum and Catalog is visiting with shared–governance groups. Find more information, revised drafts and information sessions, and RSVP links on the New Program Process Revision Info Page.
